Privacy and GDPR

1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is OBOBO Limited (trading as OBERMEN), Coliemore House, Coliemore Road, Dalkey, Co. Dublin, A96 A8D5, Ireland, company number [CRO NUMBER].

2. What we collect
- Identity and contact details: first name, surname, email address, telephone number, country, language.
- Accident data: date, your role (passenger, pedestrian, cyclist, motorcyclist, driver), circumstances, police report, insurer correspondence and any offer received.
- Health data: the nature and severity of your injuries, medical records, expert reports and any sequelae. This is a special category of data under Article 9 GDPR and receives reinforced protection.
- Technical data: IP address and timestamp, collected solely to prevent abusive submissions of the form.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal, but it may prevent us from continuing to handle your file.
4. Who receives your data
- the partner law firm instructed on your file, which acts as an independent controller and is bound by professional secrecy;
- the independent medical adviser appointed to assist you, bound by medical confidentiality;
- where necessary to advance your claim: the insurer, the appointed expert and the competent authorities;
- our technical processors: OVH SAS (hosting and email, European Union), acting under a data-processing agreement.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising purposes.
5. Transfers outside the EU
Your data is hosted in the European Union. We do not transfer it outside the EEA. Should such a transfer become necessary, it would be governed by appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR and you would be informed.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiry not followed by a file: 12 months from the last contact, then deletion.
- Open file: for the duration of the case, then 5 years from its closure (limitation periods and defence of legal claims).
- Accounting records: 6 years, as required by Irish law.
- Anti-abuse technical logs: 12 months maximum.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, write to contact@obermen.com. We reply within one month. We may ask you to prove your identity.
8. Complaints
If you consider that your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Irish supervisory authority, the Data Protection Commission (21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, Ireland – www.dataprotection.ie), or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
9. Security
Your data is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and hosted within the European Union. Access is restricted to those who need it to handle your file.
10. Cookies
This website uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are placed.
